ONE Future Honors Leaders Across Natural Gas Value Chain

April 23, 2024 – Today, Our Nation’s Energy Future (ONE Future), a coalition of nearly 50 natural gas companies taking action to reduce methane emissions, announced the winners of its third annual awards. This year, these awards recognize individuals and organizations who have impacted the industry by making material contributions to technology and advocating for U.S. natural gas.
“The ONE Future Award winners demonstrate a proactive, continuous commitment to reducing emissions through science-based technology and innovation,” said Jim Kibler, Executive Director of ONE Future. “Through continued collaboration and transparency, they are helping drive the natural gas value chain towards a low-carbon future.”
The ONE Future Advocate of the Year is Alan S. Armstrong, President and Chief Executive Officer of Williams and Chair of the National Petroleum Council. The award is in recognition of Mr. Armstrong’s tremendous stewardship and continued advocacy for U.S. natural gas through his leadership of Williams and his engagement with organizations like Natural Allies for a Clean Energy Future. He is also recognized for his dedication to the advancement of emissions reduction research, education and investment through involvement with the Oil & Gas Methane Partnership 2.0 (OGMP 2.0), GTI Energy’s Veritas Protocols, and the University of Texas-Austin’s Energy Emissions Modeling and Data Lab (EEMDL).
The ONE Future Technology of the Year winner in the production category is Konica Minolta Sensing Americas, Inc. for their GMP02 Quantitative Optical Gas Imaging (QOGI) camera technology. By utilizing Konica Minolta’s core technologies of lens design and image processing, the GMP02 QOGI camera’s visualization system allows the operator to precisely identify the location and severity of gas leaks. It is now a trusted piece of equipment for numerous operators and government agencies due to the camera’s high levels of accuracy and reliability.

About ONE Future: ONE Future was formed when seven companies came together in 2014 with a focus to collectively achieve a science-based average rate of methane emissions across our facilities equivalent to one percent or less of total natural gas production.
