• ONE Future Eighth Annual Methane and Climate Strategies Workshop

As we convene for the ONE Future Eighth Annual Methane and Climate Strategies Workshop we do so amid great change domestically and globally, appropriate for an industry that has change down to a science.  It is during this transitional period that ONE Future has embarked on an ambitious effort to develop new emissions intensity targets to replace our original 2025 goals.

Our venue in Georgetown, against the backdrop of foreign embassies and diplomatic outposts in DC, affords us a chance to dive into not only the important work that we are doing to continuously improve, but how that work affects global commerce and the twin goals of climate and energy security.

Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with industry leaders and policymakers. Secure your spot today by registering here.

January 27, 2025 Our Nation’s Energy Future (“ONE Future”) today announced that Expand Energy has joined the coalition in its effort to reduce methane emissions across the natural gas value chain. The largest natural gas producer in the United States, Expand Energy was established in 2024 through the combination of Chesapeake Energy Corporation and Southwestern Energy Company. Expand Energy is headquartered in Oklahoma City, with a major presence in Houston as well as operations in Louisiana, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio. Expand Energy will report its methane intensity results under ONE Future’s production segment.

“ONE Future is proud to welcome Expand Energy as the newest member of our industry-leading coalition,” said Jim Kibler, ONE Future’s Executive Director. “With its focus on fueling a more affordable, reliable and lower carbon future, we know that Expand Energy will be a valuable addition to our coalition’s continued progress to reduce methane emissions and ensure the future of natural gas as a long-term sustainable fuel.”

“Expand Energy is pleased to join ONE Future because we know that together as a coalition of dedicated companies, we can drive sustainability excellence and be a solution for a lower carbon future,” said Josh Viets, Expand Energy’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Representing approximately 40% of the U.S. natural gas value chain, ONE Future has surpassed its 1.0% collective methane intensity goal for the past seven years. The coalition is committed to continuous improvement, as members deploy innovative technologies, share best practices, and collaborate across the industry to advance methane management.

About Expand Energy: Expand Energy Corporation (NASDAQ: EXE) is the largest independent natural gas producer in the United States, powered by dedicated and innovative employees focused on disrupting the industry’s traditional cost and market delivery model to responsibly develop assets in the nation’s most prolific natural gas basins. Expand Energy’s returns-driven strategy strives to create sustainable value for its stakeholders by leveraging its scale, financial strength and operational execution. Expand Energy is committed to expanding America’s energy reach to fuel a more affordable, reliable, lower carbon future. For more information about Expand Energy, visit expandenergy.com.

About ONE Future: ONE Future was formed when seven companies came together in 2014 with a focus to collectively achieve a science-based average rate of methane emissions across our facilities equivalent to one percent or less of total natural gas production. Since our formation, we have grown to approximately 50 companies accounting for some of the largest natural gas producers, transmission, and distribution companies in the U.S. ONE Future members operate in 23 out of the 38 production basins and have distribution operations in 36 out of the 50 states, other segments of the value chain operate in multiple regions of the country as well. Therefore, ONE Future’s data represent a geographically diverse and material share of the U.S. natural gas supply chain. For more information visit onefuture.us.
