ONE Future Releases Industry-Leading Marginal Abatement Cost Study

April 14, 2026 – Our Nation’s Energy Future (“ONE Future”), a coalition representing roughly 40% of the
U.S. natural gas value chain, has released the results of its marginal abatement cost (MAC) study related
to methane emissions prevention, detection, and abatement activities and technologies. ONE Future
partnered with ICF for this industry-leading study, and invited feedback from third-party NGOs Clean Air
Task Force and GTI Energy, as well as academics at the Energy Emissions Modeling and Data Lab
(EEMDL).

“The MAC study results demonstrate ONE Future members’ success in deploying cost-effective solutions
to reduce emissions,” said Jim Kibler, ONE Future’s Executive Director. “This study builds on our
progress to date and reflects our commitment to continuous improvement as we work to achieve
meaningful methane reductions through innovative technologies.”

The MAC study relied upon a decade of voluminous member data as well as significant published works,
including the National Science Foundation Report and Appalachian Methane Initiative. The results
identify additional opportunities for ONE Future members and other operators to advance cost-effective
emissions reductions and abatement in light of new technologies, with the most significant forwardlooking
opportunities in the Production and Midstream segments.

This study builds on ONE Future’s consistent progress, including achieving a collective methane intensity
of 0.280% in its most recent annual reporting, exceeding our goal for the eighth year in a row. Looking
ahead, ONE Future remains committed to continued collaboration and advancing our mission of
reducing emissions across the natural gas value chain.

About ONE Future: ONE Future was formed when seven companies came together in 2014 with a focus
to collectively achieve a science-based average rate of methane emissions across our facilities
equivalent to one percent or less of total natural gas production. Since our formation, we have grown to
represent roughly 40% of the U.S. natural gas value chain, accounting for some of the largest natural gas
producers, transmission, and distribution companies in the country. ONE Future’s data represent a
geographically diverse and material share of the U.S. natural gas supply chain. For more information,
