ONE FUTURE WELCOMES NW NATURAL
-NATURAL GAS COALITION MEMBERSHIP REACHES 21-
January 23, 2020 – Our Nation’s Energy Future (ONE Future) announced today that NW Natural (NYSE: NWN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NW Natural Holdings, has joined the coalition; bringing the total number of member companies to 21.
“Welcoming NW Natural to the ONE Future family is the perfect way to begin another successful year,” said Richard Hyde, Executive Director, ONE Future. “Near the end of last year, we reported our second consecutive year of methane intensity decrease and grew our membership. The addition of NW Natural® will prove to be of value to our 2020 efforts as we increase our reach across the country.”
As a ONE Future member, NW Natural will report its 2019 methane results as part of the transmission, distribution and storage sectors within the coalition, and will hold a seat on ONE Future’s Board of Directors. The 2018 Methane Intensity Report was released in the Fall, the coalition registered a 2018 methane intensity number of 0.326%, a decrease of 41% from 2017 demonstrating that the natural gas industry can minimize methane emissions and increase production and throughput while supplying much needed energy to the U.S. and around the globe for years to come.

ONE Future member companies represent the entire natural gas value chain and account for approximately 10% of the total natural gas production, 40% of the US natural gas transmission miles and 9% of the US natural gas distribution. ONE Future companies work with each other to promote best practices and share learnings on each company’s respective science-based, technology and methods for methane reduction; though each member always has the flexibility to deploy its capital where it will be most effective.
